 GENESIS  (22)

¡§Who can count the clouds by wisdom,

Or tip the water jars of the heavens¡K¡K?¡¨

                                               Job 38:37

The LORD sat as King at the flood;

Yes, the LORD sits as King forever.

The LORD will give strength to His people;

The LORD will bless His people with peace.

                                                Psalm 29:10-11

Rocking, rocking, rocking back and forth on the

waves of the water.  The Ark rocked on the water.  Then, after 40 days, God closed up the floodgates of the sky.  The fountains of the deep were closed.  The rain stopped.  After 150 days of waiting in the ark a wind began to blow.  God sent the wind and the water began to go down.

The Ark was moved by the wind and waves as the water went down.  It was brought to rest on the mountain of Ararat.

Noah looked out the window.  He sent out a raven and a dove at different times.  Noah looked and saw the ground looked dry.  But He waited.  Everyone waited.  Almost one year and three months after the flood started, God knew the ground was dry enough to walk on.  Then He told Noah to leave the Ark with his family and all living things

What an exciting day!  Noah and his family left bringing the animals of all kinds out with them.  Each left with its family.  Again Noah was obeying God and doing things when He told him to do so.

Noah and his family took time and worshiped God.

Look at the sky.  Do you see clouds?  Count the clouds.  Draw a picture of clouds and rain.  Tell the story of Noah and the flood.

I n the bible, read Genesis 8.

 GENESIS   (23)

2 Corinthians 1:20

¡§For as many as may be the promises of God, in Him they are yes; wherefore also by Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.¡¨

Noah built the Ark.  His Daddy was Lamech.  Lamech named Noah.  He chose the name Noah to tell people God¡¦s message to them.  God told Lamech that ¡§This one shall give us rest from our work and from the toil of our hands, arising from the ground which the LORD has cursed.¡¨

                                               Genesis 5:28-29

When Noah was six hundred and one (601) years old, Noah left the Ark he had built.  His family and animals had lived in the Ark during the great flood.  All his family and all the animals left the Ark with Noah.  So, through Noah rest came.  The wicked people were gone!

The flood was gone.  After the flood, Noah and his family were living back on the earth.  Noah and his family worshiped the LORD God.

God made a promise to Himself.  He said, ¡§I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man¡¦s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.¡¨                             Genesis 8:21

God always keeps His promises.  A flood will never destroy the whole earth again.

     Do you make promises?

     Do you make promises to yourself?

     Do you keep the promises you make?

Be careful and make only wise, good promises to yourself, to others, and to God.  Tell about a promise you made.  Answer each question above and think about your promises

In the Bible read Genesis 5:28-29, 8: 20-21, 6:9-15.

GENESIS   (24)

¡§For this is like the days of Noah to Me;

When I swore that the waters of Noah

Should not flood the earth again,

So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you,

Nor will I rebuke you.

For the mountains may be removed

And the hills may shake,

But My loving kindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken.¡¨

Says the LORD who has compassion on you.¡¨

                                                 Isaiah 54:9-10

After the flood, God made another promise.  He said, ¡§While the earth remains,

     Seedtime and harvest,

     And cold and hear,

     And summer and winter,

     And day and night,

     Shall not cease.¡¨

We know there is a time to plant.  After the plants grow up, it is time to harvest and eat it or feed it to our animals.

There are cold months.  There are hot months.  Summer comes and winter comes.

You waken to the day time and sleep at night.  God said He would protect the earth and these things would continue as long as the earth remains.

Every time you see day and night happen, you can know God is and He tells the truth; He keeps his promise.  As you read this story, is it time to plant seeds or is it time to harvest crops?  Is it a cold season when you put on warm clothes or is it a warm season when you can play outdoors in the sun?  Is it summertime or is it wintertime?  Are you reading this story during the daytime or during the nighttime?

Let¡¦s stop and thank God for keeping His promises to us.  ¡§Thank you, God, for keeping Your promises.  Thank you for summer and winter, day and night, planting time and harvest.¡¨

In the Bible, read Genesis 8:20-22, and in I Peter 3:20-22, and II Peter 3:1-13.

GENESIS   (25)

Genesis 9:18-19

¡§Now the sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem and Ham and Japheth;

And Ham was the father of Canaan

These three were the sons of Noah;

And from these the whole earth was populated.¡¨

After the flood, God established laws for every person who ever lives on the earth including Noah and his family.  That includes you and me.

God blessed Noah and his sons.  God told these laws to them.  They were told what they could eat and not eat.  They were told to live in all the earth and have children.  They were to respect the life of a person because that person was made in the image of God just as Adam and Eve were made in the image of God.

Remember: You just heard that God blessed Noah and his sons.  God blesses people.  He wants us to bless people.  Ask God to bless the people who help you.  Bless each other, saying, ¡§God bless you.¡¨ God will hear your blessing.  He will be pleased when you bless someone and mean it.

Remember God¡¦s laws for the whole earth?  Say the laws God gave for you to obey.

In the Bible, read Genesis 9:1-7.
